Here's how it works: If you choose our 100% option you are choosing to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) administered directly by North American Power at a rate slightly higher than our standard rate. RECs prove that 1 megawatt-hour of electricity was generated from an eligible renewable energy resource. Purchasing RECs helps build a market for renewable electricity and contributes to environmental sustainability. The premium for the NAP Green™ option you choose will be included in the generation portion of your utility bill.
